Chief Minister Reviewed Preparations for Sikkim Film Festival

New Delhi, Mar 16: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang chaired a coordination meeting to review the preparations for the upcoming Sikkim Film Festival, which is scheduled to be held from 19th to 22nd March in Gangtok.

During the meeting, the Secretary of the Information and Public Relations (IPR) Department delivered a detailed presentation outlining the key aspects of the festival. The presentation covered the venues, estimated costs, committees constituted to oversee various responsibilities, logistical arrangements, programme schedules, and the dignitaries expected to attend the event.

Highlighting the significance of the festival, the Chief Minister urged the concerned and line departments to work in close coordination to ensure smooth planning and execution. He stated that the Sikkim Film Festival would serve as an important platform to showcase the state on an international stage, reflecting the government’s commitment to promoting Sikkim through art and cinema.

Emphasising the cultural value of the event, the Chief Minister said the festival would provide an opportunity to celebrate and present Sikkim’s natural beauty, vibrant traditions, and rich cultural heritage. He noted that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening the state’s cultural identity while promoting Sikkim as an attractive destination for cinema, art, and tourism.

He further encouraged all officials and stakeholders associated with the festival to contribute with dedication and a shared sense of responsibility so that the event is organised in a befitting manner and becomes a memorable and successful celebration.
