Shemaroo Entertainment Acquires OHO Gujarati’s Entire Content Library, Strengthening Gujarati Content offering on ShemarooMe

Over time, ShemarooMe has grown into a leading OTT platform in the Gujarat market, not just in scale but in the diversity of content it brings together. From original web series and movies to stage plays and rooted stories, the platform has gradually shaped itself into a space where Gujarati storytelling feels both accessible and consistent.

With this acquisition, a large part of premium Gujarati digital storytelling is now housed under one roof. Adding over 30 original web series and performances from more than 450 local actors, the platform now carries the most extensive collections of Gujarati web content. For viewers, it quietly removes the need to keep searching across platforms for shows that feel relevant, rooted, and worth the time.

The first title to stream from the acquired library will be Pratik Gandhi starrer Vitthal Teedi, scheduled to stream on ShemarooMe from 10th April. Set in the heartland of Saurashtra in the 1980s, the acclaimed Gujarati web series follows a small-time gambler navigating the tension between personal ideals and the realities imposed by circumstances. Vitthal Teedi combines character-driven storytelling with a rooted cultural backdrop. The series marks Pratik Gandhi’s first and only Gujarati web series appearance to date. Its soundtrack brings together contributions from noted artists including Aditya Gadhvi, Jigardan Gadhavi, and Geeta Rabari, adding to its regional authenticity.

Other popular titles from the acquired catalogue such as Kadak Mitthi, Cutting, Tuition, and many more will also soon stream on ShemarooMe, further expanding the platform’s content offering. With these additions, ShemarooMe strengthens its position as a go-to destination for premium Gujarati content.

For Shemaroo, this acquisition aligns with its ongoing digital growth strategy, which prioritizes sustainable expansion, deeper regional engagement, and a steady pipeline of original and curated content across languages.
