New Delhi, Aug 17: Senior IAS officer Anurag Jain has taken charge as the new Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog, bringing extensive experience in public administration, infrastructure and policymaking to the government’s policy think tank.

Jain is a 1989-batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. He has served as Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh and held senior positions in the Central government, including roles in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.

His administrative experience covers infrastructure development, industrial growth, investment and public governance. At NITI Aayog, he will play an important role in policy planning, development initiatives and coordination between the Centre and state governments.

Jain takes charge at a time when India is working towards major economic and development goals under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. His experience at both the state and national levels is expected to help connect policy decisions with effective implementation.

The new assignment also brings a strong focus on practical governance and improving the delivery of government programmes. As CEO, Jain will be part of efforts to support sustainable growth, innovation and stronger cooperation between different levels of government.

With his extensive administrative background, Anurag Jain’s appointment is expected to bring a practical and implementation-focused approach to NITI Aayog as India advances its long-term development agenda.
