Hyderabad/New Delhi, 3rd Aug 2026: Mahindra University today celebrated its fifth annual convocation at its campus in Bahadurpally, Hyderabad, conferring degrees upon graduating students across its Schools of Engineering, Management, Law, Media, Education, Design and other academic programmes, along with 22 PhD scholars. The ceremony brought together students, parents, faculty, industry leaders and distinguished guests to celebrate academic excellence and the beginning of a new chapter in the graduates‘ professional journeys.
The ceremony was graced by Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto Limited, as the Chief Guest, and Pradeep K Khosla, Chancellor, UC San Diego, USA, as the Guest of Honour. It was presided over by Anand Mahindra, Chancellor, Mahindra University, in the presence of Dr Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor, Mahindra University, members of the Board of Management, faculty and academic leaders.
Anand Mahindra, Chancellor, Mahindra University said, “The Class of 2026 has grown up in a world where ‘once in a lifetime’ seems to happen every year. Navigating such a world requires two superpowers: the ability to evolve through extraordinary change, and the inner strength and a larger sense of purpose. At Mahindra University, we seek to nurture this combination of adaptability and humanity. Together, they are the superpowers this generation will need to shape the future.”
During the ceremony, 29 meritorious students received gold medals in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.
According to Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto Limited, “Technology is evolving faster than business models, competitive advantage lies less in what you know and more in how quickly you learn, adapt and execute. Success will come from developing depth, discipline and the courage to make independent decisions. I encourage graduates of Mahindra University to maintain an unwavering commitment to quality and curiosity, ensuring that their contributions drive meaningful and lasting value for society.”
Prior to the commencement of the ceremony, the dignitaries inaugurated the new Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) Centre, a strategic addition to the university’s commitment to advancing industry-integrated learning.
“The defining institutions of the coming decades will not be those that merely respond to change, but those that help shape it. Universities must become engines of ideas, discovery and responsible leadership that extend their influence far beyond the campus. As Mahindra University graduates step into an increasingly complex world, they should carry with them the confidence to question assumptions, the humility to keep learning and the conviction to create solutions that improve lives,” said Pradeep K Khosla, Chancellor, UC San Diego, USA.
The convocation proceedings also included the administration of the graduates‘ oath and the formal conferral of degrees across undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.
Dr Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor, Mahindra University said, “We have built an ecosystem where academic rigour, interdisciplinary learning, research, innovation and industry engagement reinforce one another. Our graduates leave with the ability to navigate uncertainty, leverage emerging technologies responsibly and contribute meaningfully to society. As the University continues to expand its academic offerings and research capabilities, we remain committed to developing leaders who are equipped to address national priorities while competing confidently on the global stage.”
Dr Medury also presented the University‘s Annual Report, highlighting key milestones in academic excellence, research, global collaborations and institutional growth over the past year.
