Anurag University to Host RRSPBL-2024, Emphasizing Project-Based Learning Starting Tomorrow

Hyderabad, December 18, 2024…..The Regional Research Symposium on Project-Based Learning(PBL) is to be kicked off tomorrow at Anurag University, Venkatapur in the city.

Project-based learning (PBL) is an educational approach that can help students develop a variety of skills that are valuable in the classroom and beyond such as Critical thinking, Collaboration, Real-world relevant lifelong learning, Social justice and Learning equity. PBL projects can involve a variety of tasks, such as research, collaboration, product creation, and presentations. Students can work on projects over some time, ranging from a week to a semester.

It will be organised in Collaboration with the Aalborg Centre for Problem-Based Learning in Engineering Science and Sustainability under the auspices of UNESCO, Aalborg University, DENMARK and IUCEE – (Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Collaboration)

The Aalborg Centre for Problem-Based Learning in Engineering Science and Sustainability is a Category 2 centre under the auspices of UNESCO, approved by the General Conference of UNESCO

Globally, there is a need for educating engineers and scientists who can participate in the development of sustainable innovations. This will imply a reform of engineering and science education to educate engineers with employable knowledge and skills.

The Aalborg Centre contributes to a reform strategy for higher education by combining Problem and Project Based Learning (PBL), Engineering Education Research (EER) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). This is a unique combination of Research & Development areas that are mutually dependent and complementary.

Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE) is an initiative conceptualized by over 150 leaders of engineering education and businesses from US and India. The vision of IUCEE is to improve the quality and global relevance of engineering education and research in India.

The Regional Research Symposium on Project-Based Learning (PBL) is an event that brings together researchers and educators to explore PBL practices in India.

The symposium aims to Explore PBL practices in India, Recognize the importance of PBL, and Welcome contributions to share experiences related to PBL.

PBL places students as active problem solvers, engaging them in real-world scenarios that demand critical thinking, collaboration, and application of knowledge. We welcome your contributions to share experiences related to PBL within the following tracks with the theme: “PBL for Interdisciplinary learning’’

The tracks of the summit include: PBL towards sustainable development Goals (SDGs); Innovation and entrepreneurship; Science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics (STEAM) through PBL; Assessment and pedagogies for PBL; Community engagement and service-learning through PBL; Educational technologies for PBL• Teacher professional development in PBL; Program and cross-course level of PBL; Virtual and hybrid PBL; Collaborative models for PBL design and delivery; Value education through PBL; AI and PBL and Leadership competencies through PBL

PBL is a student-centered approach that engages students in real-world scenarios that require: Critical thinking, Collaboration, Application of knowledge, and solving open-ended problems.
