6th March 2024, New Delhi: Leher Sethi (Secretary – ICUNR & Founder – Something Creative) & Neeraj Kumar (Founder – Le Magnifique Group) organized an afternoon to mark International Women’s Day on Monday, 4th March 2024 at Le Meridien, New Delhi where Ms. Shelly Oberoi, The Mayor of Delhi graced the occasion with her presence as the Chief Guest.
The panelists Sakshi Malik, Sarvesh Mishra, Yogita Bhayana, Leher Sethi, Saurabh Shukla, and Yashovardhan Azad discussed “Efficacy of Movements & Laws in the Indian Context: A Discussion on the POSH Act and the impact of movements such as #Me Too”, which was moderated by Saurabh Shukla of The Red Mike. The topic discussed the effectiveness of legal frameworks and social movements in India, focusing on the POSH Act and movements like # MeToo, assessing the impact of these measures while talking about workplace harassment and trying to develop a comprehensive understanding of how they play out in our society.
UN representatives, Embassy Heads, guests, and Select Diplomats gathered to cheer the women achievers. In the light of International Women’s Day, women achievers from all walks of life received awards for their outstanding contributions to their domains.
The event’s Associate Partner was Hamdard, the Value Partners were COWE and Aruna Abhey Oswal Trust, and The Red Mike, the Media Partner. The event was hosted by Le Meridien Hotel. The awardees were gifted products by Kairali, Casa Decor, Aayna, and Clinikally.
ICUNR’s Secretary General Mr. K.L. Malhotra welcomed the guests, and Leher Sethi delivered a speech to set the tone for the event, which was talked by panelists and an awards ceremony followed. Chief Guest, Ms. Shelly Oberoi spoke on Women’s Empowerment and the need for such events, followed by some powerful acceptance speeches.
Smt. Maneka Gandhi was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for her contribution in the field of animal welfare. The other awardees of the ICUNR International Women’s Day Awards were:
